The Staggies keeper was injured during the 3-0 home defeat to Dundee United at the weekend and will have a scan.
Fox is definitely out of the Ladbrokes Premiership clash with Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Tuesday night and if McIntyre's fears are founded, then Gary Woods will feature between the posts at Hampden on March 13.
McIntyre said: "Foxy is out. Once we get it scanned we will know but probably at least four weeks.
"He has had some outstanding performances and unfortunately for him he has had two injuries this season and both of them have been quite severe.
"I can't really give a timescale until we get it scanned."
McIntyre insists his players are hurting from the defeat against the league's basement side and look to do better against second-bottom Killie who have new boss Lee Clark still settling in.
The Staggies won 4-0 in Ayrshire early in the season and followed it up with a 3-2 home win in December.
He said: "We have to go to Kilmarnock and we have to show a reaction and I am more than confident we can do that.
"The group of players we have got are hurting from Saturday's performance and result and the good thing about football is you get a chance quickly top rectify it.
"We have done well against Killie this season, we have scored seven goals against them so hopefully we can add a few more.
"We know they have got a new manager and the players are fighting to stay in his plans so we are going to be facing a side that is a real threat and it is going to be a difficult game."
McIntyre rebuffed the notion that his players had one eye on the Hampden final against United.
He said: "We have lost a match, so it is how we bounce back.
"It is easy to turn round and say they have one eye on the cup final - it doesn't really work like that for me because if you are in poor form running up to it then there is a good chance of losing your place.
"So from that side of things it was just a bad day at office."
