The player in question is 14-year-old Norwegian Edvard Tagseth, who has reportedly signed a pre-contract agreement to join Liverpool when he turns 16.
That birthday is just under 18 months away - in January 2017 - but fans are already getting excited about a player who had drawn interest from some of the biggest sides in Europe, including Manchester United, Manchester City and Ajax.
Liverpool fan blog Empire of the Kop reports that the youngster "is clearly a fan of Brendan Rodgers’ side – a fact which surely must have proved decisive during the inevitable battle for his signature," a conclusion they came to from looking at the posts on his Twitter page.
Tagseth told Norwegian media that he is thrilled with the move.
"It feels good to finally be done with it and to decide on a club," he said, explaining that he visited all the interested clubs before making up his mind.
"I felt it was best club for me. I enjoyed myself best there."
He's certainly confident, too: A few weeks ago he was quoted saying that "I am going to be as good as Messi."
